A slitting line is a coil processing line used to cut wide steel coils into multiple narrow strips with precise widths. These strips are then recoiled and supplied to downstream equipment, most commonly ERW tube mills, for pipe and tube production.
In simple terms, the slitting line prepares the right strip width, edge quality, and coil condition required for stable forming and high-quality welding.


In an ERW tube mill production flow, the slitting line is located before the tube mill line.
Typical process sequence: Steel Coil → Slitting Line → Strip Coils → Uncoiler → Forming → HF Welding → Sizing → Cutting
