Slit Felt (also called Slitting Line Felt, Felt Pad, Felt Strip) is a soft, wear-resistant industrial felt used in the slitting section of ERW tube mills to protect steel strip surfaces and stabilize strip movement during high-speed processing.

In ERW tube mill production, the steel coil must go through Uncoiler → Slitting Line → Accumulator → Forming → Welding. During the slitting stage, slit felt plays a critical role in ensuring the strip surface is clean, scratch-free, and well-controlled before entering the welding line.

Slit felt is widely used for mild steel, galvanized steel, cold-rolled steel, stainless steel and pre-coated steel.

Main Applications in ERW Tube Mill Slitting Line

Slit felt is installed on several key positions of the slitting line:

1. Tension Stand (Tension Pad)

Provides stable friction and keeps the strip tension uniform.

2. Separator Arms / Overarm Separator
